Jhatpat Idli - Kids Tiffin Snacks
'Idies' are always favorite snacks and easily prepared for breakfast for all ages. I always made idli as my son loves it. I am sharing this recipe which is less time taking and no overnight fermenting is required. This is a low cal and healthy recipe. Rava idlies are soft, spongy and yummy!!!
Ingredients
Rice powder 1/2 cup
All-purpose flour (Maida) 1/2 cup
Yogurt (Dahi) 1/2 cup
Baking powder 1/2 tsp
Fruit Salt/Eno 1 tsp
Salt a pinch
Fresh Coriander leaves 4-5 strings, chopped
Method
1. Greased idli moulds.
2. Now mix the semolina, rice flour, maida, baking powder, salt, fruit salt and yogurt in a bowl.
3. Mix well and pour into greased moulds.
4. Steam for 7-8 mins. Wait until all the idlies are puff up and cook completely.
5. Then insert knife or fork to check its done.
6. Once done using a spoon scrape the idlies.
7. Enjoy idlies with coconut chutney.
