Tomato Chutney

Tomato er chutney

This chutney is Bengali style. Tomato-Raisins Chutney a beautiful, sweet and tangy and mouth-watering.  Today I am sharing with you the most famous one and the easy to make chutney. Hope friends you will enjoy it.

Ingredients

Tomatoes 5-6 medium chopped to small pieces
Mustard Seeds (Sarsoo/Rai) 1 tsp
Ginger 
1 tsp, Grated
Dry Whole Red Chili 2
Raisins (Kismis) Handful
Turmeric Powder (Haldi) 1/2 tsp
Sugar 1/2 cup or more according to your sweet level
Salt a pinch
Five Spice Mix (
Panch Phoron)1 tsp (Dry roasted and ground to a powder)
White oil - 1 tsp


Method
1. Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds. When mustard seeds start spluttering, add whole red chili.
2. When the seeds splutter add grated ginger to the pan. Cook on a low flame for a min.
3. Now add all the chopped tomatoes to the pan and salt, turmeric stir for a minute.
4. Now add raisins and stir it again.
5. Now cover the pan with a lid. Cook on a low flame for 5 minutes.
6. When the tomatoes are well cooked, add sugar.
7. Add a little water and bring the mixture to a boil.
8. Check the consistency and the sweetness. It should be thick and sweet.
9. Sprinkle about 1 tsp of roasted Panch Phoron powder before serving.

10. Enjoy it with rice.
