Chocolate Chip Cookies

Chocolate Chip Cookies


Ingredients
All Purpose Flour 3 1/2 cup
Milk Chocolate Morsels 1 cup
Buttermilk 1/2 cup
Baking Powder 1 tsp
Baking Soda 1 tsp
Granulated Sugar 1 cup
Light Brown Sugar 1 cup
Butter Flavored Shortening 1 cup
Eggs 2
Vanilla Extract 2 tsp
Salt 1/4 tsp

Method
1. Preheat oven to 350 F. Line baking tray with aluminium paper/ cookie sheet.
2. Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Whisk together and set aside.
3. Now cream shortening and both sugars on medium speed in electric mixer until light and fluffy for about 2-3 minutes. Add eggs one at a time, mixing for 1 minute after each addition. Add vanilla extract and keep mixing by reducing the speed. Slowly add flour mixture in 3 additions, alternating with buttermilk in 2 additions (like flour, buttermilk, flour, buttermilk, flour).
4. Turn off the mixer and fold in chocolate morsels.


5. Form the dough into approximately 1 1/2 inch balls. Place on cookie sheet, 1 1/2'' apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until edges are lightly browned.

6. Cool for 5 minutes. Transfer cookies from cooking sheet directly to cooling rack to cool completely.
